I met a very interesting young entrepreneur at a recent demo day at Encinitas Ranch golf course. Ryan Voois is in middle school, but is an enterprising businessman.
eBob was created because Ryan loves flying and airplanes just as much as he loves golf and wanted to know “How can I get $20M?” “All the good stuff is invented already,” he said. Ryan likes to wear colorful, matching clothing on the golf course, so eBob was born.
Ryan began with hats and belts because this was the easiest in terms of inventory. He is paying for everything himself. He has managed to do a lot with his initial $500 investment from his bank account.
Ryan met with a rep from Pukka Headwear and they allowed him to design the hats he wanted. He then contacted Canterbury/Glenayr Belts in Canada and established an account with them too.
Ryan’s first hat order was in June and 48 hats arrived on July 3, including a red, white, and blue hat he designed. They sold out by the end of July 4th.
The vision of eBob is to start with a stylish hat. An eBob hat paired with a solid color shirt is an inexpensive way to look great. Add the belt and, as Ryan says, you have a “good, solid outfit.” In the future Ryan hopes to expand his product line to include shirts, socks, and more, but always making it easy for our customers to mix and match in a coordinated way.
eBob is selling hats at the National Finals of The Executive Women’s Golf Association at the Westin Mission Hills in Palm Springs and is also working with the First Tee organization. The World Stars of Junior Golf Tournament is an annual junior golf tournament that takes place every July in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year’s tournament is expected to have close to 400 juniors from 20 different countries competing on 5 different courses. eBob Apparel is the custom hat supplier for this year’s World Stars tournament and has designed a custom side panel design depicting the flags of the representative countries. In addition to the custom World Stars hats, we will be selling eBob hats and belts.
