By Leonard Finkel
I’ll admit I’m not a political animal and I tend to stay away from political conversations and commentary because it can create inflammatory situations. But I believe I need to speak out now and I think all of you should also.
The topic I’d like to address is the new tax bills rolling around in Congress. I’m no expert on these things and we don’t know right now what the final bill will look like, but as a homeowner, I am very concerned with how this bill will affect the value of my property and the potential to sell it when the time is right.
It appears that both bills in Congress plan to eliminate the ability to write off the interest and taxes on your home payments as deductions. From everything that I gather, it could have a devastating effect for multiple reasons on the value of my home. I think we all need to make our political representatives aware that this is unacceptable. Do you agree with my position?
